Jake Lyndon Shoot Interview (Behind the Lines)

22/05/2011 19:19

>>The video starts with a “Behind the Lines” visual before cutting to a shot of Matt Striker! Striker is dressed in his suit and is backstage at the CWW Event; Roulette. People are rushing by everywhere, taking production equipment, merchandise ect. Out of the arena. One would assume the PPV is complete. The camera quality isn’t great and Matt Striker has his right arm stretched out which would make one assume he is working the camera and conducting the interview. He cracks a smile as he gets ready to talk<<

Matt StrikerLadies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, cats and dogs my name is Matt Striker, which I’m sure you already know and I am backstage after a huge Roulette Pay-Per-View. Now what am I doing here, well I’m about to conduct the first of many, “Behind The Lines” shoot interviews where your favourite superstars, break character and give their real thoughts on everything and anything! Now the question you all want to know, who first? Well none other than Jake Lyndon! Now let’s go find him!

>>Matt Striker makes his way down the corridor; the camera is focused straight ahead. Striker finally reaches the CWW Revolution Superstars Locker Room, it’s open. He knocks three times before walking in. He quickly spots Jake Lyndon who is putting some stuff in a suitcase. He is the only person left in the locker room, everyone else seems long gone. Jake looks up and spots Striker before quickly waving him over. He throws his tights into his suitcase and zips it shut before sitting up. Matt and Jake shake hands before Matt turns the camera back on himself<<

Matt StrikerLadies and Gentlemen, here is the man himself, Jake Lyndon! [He turns the camera back on Lyndon] Jake, thank you for taking this time to join us.

>>He switches the camera back onto Lyndon<<

Jake LyndonNot a problem Matt.

Matt StrikerHow are you feeling after tonight?

Jake LyndonPretty good actually. A few bruises but everything went smoothly, Dan’s a great worker.

Matt StrikerThat’s great to hear. So how about we get straight into it then? First question, you’ve stayed away from this question for a while now so if you still don’t want to answer it, say so; what are your thoughts on the now defunct, EFNW? Your issues with the promotion have been highlighted a bit since you left when Travis Jones was still in control a little over a year ago.

Jake LyndonWell yes they have been, and yes I’m willing to answer the question. In case you don’t know I left EFNW because of a situation which happened involving Benny Johnston, who I’m still very close with, Travis Jones and Harry Jones, who I am again, quite close with. We won’t go into the details but it really ticked me off so I left. EFNW, up until that point, was the most fun I had ever had in a wrestling promotion. A lot of bad stuff is said about EFNW, but I personally think, apart from one or two issues, it was a great promotion, which is the same with places like CWW and ECCW, there’s nothing wrong with them and they’re great places to work. That incident though, was basically a screw job, Benny had no idea what was happening and could have been seriously injured, and I just thought it was unprofessional. But it was still a very good promotion and could have been a serious contender to being the top promotion in America in its return a few months ago if it had the right financial backing, unfortunately it didn’t.

Matt StrikerOkay, well what are your thoughts on Harry and Travis Jones?

Jake LyndonAt the time I left, I had no respect for either man and I saw it as them just doing whatever they could, throwing whoever under the bus, just to try and get remembered. Since then though, I have talked to both men while working in CWW and I have got a great deal of respect for them. They have grown up a lot, no doubt about it. Both men have seen that they weren’t really doing what was best for their promotion and I’m sure when Travis opens his new one later this year it’s going to be very successful because he now has more of an idea on how to make things work.

Matt StrikerWell sticking on the subject of Authority figures, a few months ago, along with Mr. CeroUno, you were put in charge of CWW while Shane McMahon took a break. This saw you retire from Wrestling and stay on as General Manager of Revolution for a fairly long time. A couple of questions come from this, why did you leave the ring for this new job and what made you return to the ring?

Jake LyndonWell I never planned on leaving the ring at that time, I was the champion, I was at the top of my game and I was loving what I was doing. But then taking over for a few months and being Revolution General Manager for that time was pitched to me and I kind of liked the idea. So I gave it a run and at first it was okay but towards the end, I just didn’t like it anymore. I was given the opportunity to keep running Revolution but I turned it down because there was too much shit going on backstage that I didn’t want to have to deal with you know? I like being that guy who can give people advice and pull them into line, but I don’t want to be sitting at a desk all day playing teacher and trying to keep absolutely everything in order. Major respect to everyone who’s been doing it in CWW for however long.

Matt StrikerAlright, now not a lot of people know, but you where the man pushing for Josh Polson to be pushed when he had his first title run, what’s your thought on him and what’s happening with him now.

Jake LyndonWell the way I see it is, Josh is the hardest working individual in wrestling today. He comes to work, helps everyone out, trains like crazy and deserves to be at the top of the mountain. He payed his dues for a long time and was never given the run. Once we convinced him to change up his gimmick a bit, he was obviously ready to be in the main-event and I am just glad I got a chance to work with him while he was still on Revolution. As for the storyline he’s in the middle of now, well it’s interesting to say the least. Hopefully something big comes out of the end of it and it sure looks like it’s going to, so all the best for him I say.

Matt StrikerAlright, what about the man you were working with tonight, Dan Maskell?

Jake LyndonAh, Dan’s a great bloke. He’s got everything it takes to make it huge in this business. He knows his ability but he isn’t cocky, he has all the tools in his possession to headline Bound to Death. To be the front man of CWW and anywhere else he chooses to wrestle, he’s definitely going to make it big.

Matt StrikerAlright we’re starting to run out of time so I’m going to real of a few questions and you just give quick short answers, as fast as you can.

Jake LyndonSounds great!

Matt StrikerFavourite moment in Wrestling?

Jake LyndonTough one, I can probably nail it down to three, entering the CWW Hall of Fame, winning the Revolution Championship at Bound 2 Death and going into the XCW Hall of Fame with my best friend Benny Johnston.

Matt StrikerWorst moment in Wrestling?

Jake LyndonMy first match, I took a bump from the top rope to the outside and the force made me crap my pants.

Matt StrikerWow, um okay. Ah, best talent to come out of the J.T. Lyndon School of Wrestling?

Jake LyndonA tie between Tiger Boy and Kevin Irvine.

Matt StrikerOkay final question, the one man you’ve never wrestled against who you’d like to face?

Jake LyndonI’d have to say Craig Owens. The kid has a bucket load of potential and I really like his character.

>>Striker turns the camera so it’s facing him<<

Matt StrikerAlright that is all we have time for. Thank you Jake and tune in next week as we catch up with a brand new superstar! Good night.
